Avalon High is a 2010 Disney Channel Original Movie starring Britt Robertson, Gregg Sulkin, Joey Pollari and Devon Graye. The movie is based on the book of the same name by Meg Cabot. It premiered on November 12, 2010, in the United States, January 22, 2011, in Australia and New Zealand, and January 28, 2011, in UK.[1][2]

Plot



Allie Pennington, the daughter of two medieval literature scholars, transfers to Avalon High.  She soon finds herself  fulfilling a prophecy about the reincarnation of King Arthur and other members of his court. As the movie  unfolds, she makes several new friends among whom are Will, the school’s starting quarterback and the most obvious choice as the reincarnation of Arthur, and Miles who, with his psychic flashes, is most likely the reincarnation of Merlin.
As Allie seems to have fallen right into the middle of the unraveling of the prophecy, she takes on a protective role as she tries to guard Will from his “evil” stepbrother, supposedly the reincarnation of Mordred, who prophecy reveals will be determined to kill Arthur. If the new Mordred succeeds, the world will be sent into another Dark Age.[3]
Several plot twists occur as the prophecy comes closer to fulfillment.

Filming took place in Auckland, New Zealand[4] from May 3[5] to June 3, 2010.[6][7] Bethells Beach was used as a location for the full-armor battle sequences.[8] Mechnology Visual Effects created 134 visual effects shots for the production.

Reception

The film's television premiere was watched by 3.9 million viewers.[9]
